I would like to ask a question- Do you people ever cross check is the news real or just viral on social platforms? If you are not sure about that particular news then do not forward others unknowingly.
Recently when I saw the below image again on social media this year, I was stunned. So I checked on the internet to see if any Women’s Kabaddi World Cup exist this year, but I found nothing as such! Finally, I found that the snapshot was taken in the year 2011. And this photo is more than five years back but is still viral in the year 2017.
But why is it still circulated on social media?
The reality behind it is here! This photo is of the long back when India won the Kabaddi World Cup against Britain in Ludhiana. The picture depicts that after the victory the India’s women ‘Kabaddi’ team standing with the cheque on the street. The crew said no one came to pick up them.
In India, people are not even aware that Kabaddi world cup is being played or not? For instance, this year Pakistan defeated India in Cricket match so at the same time India Women’s Hockey team won. Very fewer people knew about that. So the films like Chak De! India, Dangal are being encouraged. And when it comes to Women’s Kabaddi World Cup, their participation at international level is an honor for us. In fact, it should not have been ignored without cheers.
And the epic goes, the team was waiting outward the Park Plaza Hotel in Jalandhar for auto-rickshaw. And I was surprised to know that there were no arrangements of conveyance for them. That’s ridiculous! The team who gave the endless efforts for their country they weren’t even provided with the proper facility.
Another legend yet to come, players need to wait and stay there for hours just because the management didn’t pay the bill of Rs. 22,000 of a hotel food. And trust me, they survived with one pair of clothes in entire series, as their luggage burnt in the bus accident. Team management didn’t even bother to provide clothes to them.
This happened even when Politicians were in that event. I would describe it as Indian irony. Indian sports, apart from cricket, is down at the heel. We being the citizen of India can inspire them in Indian sports. And never let their dignity get down.
If this would have been a scenario with any of the political party or his/her daughter or son then?
